On July 27, 2023, Consul General of Türkiye in New York, Reyhan Özgür, visited the Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey. The Consul General, who has an extensive background in international relations and a deep commitment to fostering cultural exchange, expressed his feelings of pride on seeing Turkish stone used in the construction of Akshardham. “Having Turkish stone here is a sense of honor for us,” he shared.
Reflecting on his experience from touring the campus and interacting with volunteers from various backgrounds, he noted, “The doors of this temple are open to everyone. From the moment you arrive on the campus, everyone embraces you, no one is asking about your background, your origin. These kinds of structures are symbols of inspiration for other communities… in every corner, in every step that you are taking on this campus, you understand that this place is about embracing people.”
